This one-of-a-kind home overlooking Lewis Bay has spectacular water views in multiple directions. It is a lovely Cape Cod cottage, originally built in the 1900’s, that has been fully restored and renovated in 2023. There’s nothing better than Cape Cod charm updated. If you love the warmth of wood, you just might fall in love with this home’s wood floors, exposed wood beams and wood bead board walls and ceilings, and you will certainly love watching the many boats and ferries as they navigate in and out of Lewis Bay. From the moment you pull into the home’s circular driveway, you begin to feel the peacefulness that embraces this home.
The home’s location is exceptional. It is a 3-minute walk to the end of Algonquin Street, where your feet will find the sand of a beautiful, private neighborhood beach – just the kind of beach that beckons you to Cape Cod in the first place. Drive three to four minutes to Main Street (Route 28) for coffee, barbecue, ice cream and as many as three mini golf options, all within minutes of each other. Walk or bike less than a mile to famous Tugboats restaurant at the Hyannis Marina, or Baxter’s Boat House, both with views of all of Hyannis Harbor and countless boats coming and going.
Speaking of Hyannis, you also have only a short drive, walk or bike ride to the Hyannis docks where the ferries will whisk you away to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard for the day. Or stroll up Main Street, Hyannis for some of the most appealing shops and restaurants anywhere on the Cape.
Indoor Spaces: The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want to make meal prep quick, easy and a pleasure. The kitchen also provides a café style dining table and chairs for breakfast, lunch or a snack for the kids and a handy half bath off the kitchen. From the kitchen, you enter the spacious living room with plenty of comfy lounge seating and a big, wall mounted TV located over the home’s original stone fireplace. In addition, there is a long table with seating that overlooks the backyard and the beautiful water view, perfect for dining, jigsaw puzzles or family game night. A sliding door here, leads you out to an open-air deck and big, level lawn. As you head towards the stairs, you find another sliding door that leads out to a gorgeous, spacious screened porch, a great place to relax, gaze at the beautiful water views and be refreshed by the Cape’s summer salt air breezes. There’s also a good-sized dining table, so you may be tempted to fire up the grill and dine al fresco.
Sleeping Accommodations: There are two bedrooms, both on the second level. The larger bedroom features a queen-size bed plus a daybed with a comfortable twin. The second bedroom serves up bunk beds, full size under, twin on top. You’ll find a full bath on this level as well, with an easy step-in shower.
Second Floor Deck: Another highlight of this home, is the upper-level deck off the larger bedroom, with its panoramic views of the Sound. It is a perfect place for coffee in the morning, reading and sunning during the day, and Happy Hour at day’s end while you watch the beautiful sunset over the Bay.
