There’s a lot to love about this expansive, regal property, idyllically situated on a private acre and a half near at the extreme eastern tip of Long Pond, the Cape’s largest body of fresh water. An important part of the allure is the home’s proximity – just a four-minute walk -- to Cahoon Beach Landing, a sheltered, sandy beach on the serene waters of Long Pond. Better yet, hop in the two owners’ kayaks, stored at the edge of Smalls Pond in the home’s back yard, and paddle a few minutes across that pond to reach Cahoon Landing Beach. Enjoy the beach or portage the kayaks across the 30-foot wide of isthmus of soft sand separating the two ponds and relaunch on Long Pond. Maybe pack a lunch as Long Pond lives up to its name. It’s more than 700 acres with six-plus miles of shoreline!
You don’t even have to go that far to launch the two kayaks and two stand-up paddle boards provided by the owner and stationed at the water’s edge, right in the back yard.
Your outdoor living experience is further enhanced by the more than ample, elevated decks that surround the house, including the largest one which is covered and features a good-sized outdoor dining table and chairs. Also outside, besides plenty of comfortable seating, you’ll find the large gas grill, enclosed outdoor shower and fire pit.
Inside the 5,000+ square foot home, the furnishings and décor exude an eclectic Bohemian style, with Asian Indian influences. The main level common living space presents vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and columns that make for a rich, majestic impression – certainly going far beyond typical Cape Cod decor. The inviting living room flows into the classic dining room which, in turn, opens into the chef’s kitchen (literally designed by a professional chef!).
The kitchen has a large, granite center island with built-in range top, and two high boy chairs for seating at the island. Interestingly, the cabinets on one side of the island are white, while the ones on the other side are nickel ore green. Appliances are stainless steel. Also on the main level, you’ll find one of the half baths located on this level.
Walk up to the second level and proceed down the balcony hallway, which is open to and overlooks the living space below. Up here you’ll discover two more king bedroom suites, each with its own private full bath. There’s another bedroom with twins – three of them. This bedroom also has a private full bath.
Then there’s the lower level with a large, comfortable TV lounge. The lower level also features a full-size pocket billiards table, with a ping pong topper. There is also a private office in case you have to work on vacation. Here you’ll find yet another king bedroom with private full bath plus a twin bedroom with its own full bath. In all, the house has six full bathrooms and three half baths.
This home has central air conditioning throughout! It also has cable TV and high-speed Wi-Fi.
