First, consider the location. Directly on Main Street in the heart of Barnstable Village, it’s a short walk to Barnstable Marina with its intriguing waterfront dining choices, whale watches and charter fishing boats. Walk in the other direction to Main Street’s, dining, ice cream, unique shops, art fairs and more. You’ll become addicted to the Barnstable Market and Nirvana Coffee Company. 

When the beach beckons, sandy Millway Beach on beautiful Barnstable Harbor is just a half mile up the road.  

Built in 1825 the home itself is big, beautiful and attractively finished and furnished. Discover the stunning, fully equipped kitchen. Soak in the cheery light afforded by the vaulted ceiling with skylights and handsome transom windows.  You’ll love gathering here.
 
The creative window placements also showcase the adjacent dining area, which is complemented by a pair of high boy seats at the large kitchen island. Just beyond the kitchen and dining area, the open floor plan presents an inviting lounge with curl-up-and-enjoy leather seating, a comforting gas fireplace and a flat screen smart TV. 
 
The “front rooms” in the house include the slightly more formal dining room with another fireplace, leading to the good sized living room with plenty of lounge seating and another flat screen smart TV. 
 
There’s one bedroom on the main level, with an adjacent full bath, the ideal solution for an older couple or single in your group with mobility issues, for whom stairs can be a challenge.
 
Anticipating that some guests may need to work remote while in residence, the owner has thoughtfully provided two work stations, one on the main level, another upstairs.
 
The main level also has a half bath just off the formal dining room.
 
The second level offers three more discreet bedrooms, the primary with a king size bed, one more queen bedroom and one with bunks. There is another sleeping area with a single twin bed with a pull-out trundle under. The beautifully renovated full bath on the second level is also home to the stackable washer/ dryer.
 
One last set of stairs leads to the third level, where you’ll find an enormous “Captain’s Quarters” guest room with a comfy queen size bed.  The room is completely custom wood paneled, including the striking coffered ceiling.  The window up here provides an arresting elevated view of Main Street below.
 
The home is air conditioned via strategically placed window units on the main level and a central system serving the two upper levels. The smart TVs are Cable enabled and the home has high speed WiFi, of course.
 
Outdoor living at this property also offers a variety of elegant choices.  The open deck includes bench seating plus a table and chairs for dining al fresco, making good use of the gas grill.  There’s also a hot tub here, a wonderful way to relax at the end of the day.  You’ll also find an enclosed outdoor shower to rinse off the sand and salt after a visit to the beach.  An attractive brick patio off the deck with a café table and chairs provides yet another place to enjoy the carefully tended fenced in yard and gardens. 
 
An additional feature:  the freestanding barn with a home theater projector and screen and ping pong table.  Here you’ll also find beach chairs, a cooler and a wagon which makes it practical to walk to the beach and leave your car at the house.

Those fees include a reservation fee and a non-refundable Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) fee totaling $195. In addition, there are state and local taxes applied to all reservations less than 31 days in length that total 14.45%.

This property offers a three night minimum stay during select weeks in May–June and September–October. Guests are charged a cleaning fee for all stays less than seven nights. Stay seven nights or more and the cleaning fee is waived.
