Named for the year it was originally built, The 1768 House today offers a totally updated vacation experience in appealing Dennis Village along the Cape’s picturesque north shore and U.S. Route 6A.
Location
This alluring property is just across from Scargo Lake, where you are close to a boat ramp to launch kayaks. Also, you can walk 10 minutes on a cart path to Howes Street Beach and a few minutes beyond that to Corporation Beach, both on Cape Cod Bay. Here, at low tide, you can stroll out onto the exposed sandy “flats” for a mile or more, where kids of all ages delight in finding moon snails and all sorts of other interesting and harmless critters in the tidal pools. Drive or bike a short distance in either direction on 6A to discover some of Cape Cod’s best eateries, such as the Scargo Café, Seven Days, and Grumpy’s for breakfast or lunch.
Outdoor Living Space
The focus here is the inviting heated pool and its appealing hardscape/patio. Lounge poolside until it’s time to fire up the gas grill, then gather the family at the umbrella-shaded patio table for outdoor dining. There is plenty of level, well-kept yard for a game of Whiffleball®.
Inside Living Space
Enter the house through the front foyer, which divides the home into two sections. One side features an open-concept kitchen, dining area, and lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a stainless steel gas range. The dining space, just off the kitchen, comfortably seats 8-10 people. Next to it, the lounge provides cozy seating, a gas fireplace, and access to the patio and pool.
Sleeping Accommodations
The main level features two bedrooms, each with a large, beautiful king-sized bed. Upstairs, there are two more bedrooms—one with a king bed and the other with a queen. On the lower level, two cots are available for extra sleeping space. The home includes two full bathrooms and one half bathroom.
