Location
Tucked into a secluded, treed lot in a small, quiet Bayside neighborhood, this family vacation home is an ideal choice for your family beach vacation. Because of the trees, there are no significant views of the Bay from the house, although you can see the water from the second level deck. But it’s hard to get much closer to the beach unless you’re directly on it. The beach path is just a few steps from the front door and your feet are in the sand in 60 seconds or less. What a perfect beach it is, and never crowded as it is a private neighborhood beach, available only to a few homes. At low tide, the water recedes so far, you can walk straight out for a mile or more on the famous “Brewster Flats, where kids of all ages are fascinated by discoveries in the many warm tidal pools.
Part of this home’s appeal is its “country road” setting and the ability to easily walk to many popular Brewster destinations. The Brewster Store is just up the street, the perfect spot to grab the paper and a coffee as well as let the kids choose penny candy and unique toys in this charming, landmark general store. Grab some ice cream right next door at the Brewster Scoop. Take in the nightly live music at the Woodshed. The library is right around the corner if you run out of books to read or need a program for the kids.
A short drive or bike ride will take you to plenty of other activities in Brewster such as riding bikes on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, fishing, hiking, exploring the 1,900 acre Nickerson State Park, savoring delicious coffee at the Snowy Owl, catching a Brewster Whitecaps Cape League baseball game, walking the John Wing trail, checking out the Cape Cod Museum of National History, grabbing amazing pizza at Stone L’Oven, or mini golfing and ice cream at Harbor Lights.
Outside Living Spaces
Outside, this home features a large deck with two café style tables with chairs. The retractable awning provides shade as needed. The gas grill lives out here as well. In addition, there’s a small second level deck off one of the upstairs bedrooms with a peek of the bay. You’ll also make good use of the enclosed outdoor shower, for rinsing off sand and salt from the teach.
Inside Living Spaces
Like many Cape properties, this one has been expanded and renovated more than once. The curb view presents a fairly modest profile of the original Cape style cottage, but don’t be misled. There’s an entire second house connected behind that!
Some recent improvements:
The big, bright, cheery social kitchen has been recently upgraded with new cabinets, countertops and appliances
There’s all new lounge seating in the roomy dining area, right off the kitchen
The adjoining family room has plenty of new comfy seating as well and a flat screen TV.
All window air conditioners have been replaced by split units for better cooling control.
But the most outstanding upgrade of all is the addition of a full bath to the main level bedroom, creating a true master bedroom suite, now with a luxurious king size bed!
An enclosed, three-season room right off the family room adds yet another appealing living space for evening games, puzzles or just relaxing. And of course, there is high speed WiFi throughout.
Sleeping Accommodations
This house has five bedrooms. On the second level, you’ll find two with Queen size beds, one with twins, and one with a queen and a full – plus the new master suite on the main level with a new king size bed and full private bath,
nice for an older guest or couple who doesn't want to deal with stairs.
