Enjoy a spacious, updated beach house just a two-minute walk to a private sandy neighborhood beach. This house features 4 bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom, an open floor plan, deck, and private yard.
At the heart of the 1st floor is the chef's kitchen which flows into the living room with its two large and cozy sofas; perfect for family game night. Through the comfortable living room is a relaxing sunroom which is a favorite spot for morning coffee, reading a good book, or simply hanging out. The kitchen also opens onto a bright and cheerful dining room, where the West Barnstable table seats 8-10 people.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a mud room with a washer/dryer and a door out to the deck and outdoor shower. Beyond that is a first-floor primary suite with a queen bed, private bathroom, and attached sitting room, which is ideal for those who don’t care for climbing stairs.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs. The large primary bedroom features a walk-in closet and a large bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a separate, jetted tub. The other two bedrooms each have twin beds, cozy built-ins, and private bathrooms. There is another full-size washer/dryer on the second floor. Other amenities include central AC, a dishwasher, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and an outdoor grill.
Out back there is a comfortable deck, another popular spot for morning coffee and perfect for catching the afternoon sun, enjoying evening cocktails, or for that lobster dinner. There is a roomy yard where you can relax in the hammock or play yard games by day or sit around the fire-pit in Adirondack chairs by night.
Barnstable Marina is just a quarter mile away and features sport fishing charters, the Whale Watch, Mattakeese Wharf Restaurant & Bar (live music), Osterville Fish Too seafood market and clam shack (great lobster rolls!!).
Keep walking and you will get to historic Barnstable Village with quaint shops, restaurants, ice cream, the fabled Nirvana Coffee Company, and a great market!
The neighborhood is very quiet, great for kids, and is idyllic for all interests:
-
Beachgoers enjoy low tide walks out on the flats amongst the tide pools. High tide offers great swimming in calm waters along with a multitude of watersports. This house comes with beach accessories including 4 kayaks, a paddle board, boogie boards, beach chairs/towels and a beach cooler.
-
Boaters can launch their boat at the public launch and/or take a transient slip for the week at the marina.
-
Fishermen are at the center of the Striped Bass fly fishing / light tackle capital of North America.
Barnstable is very centrally located and is only a quick drive to Main Street in Hyannis where you will find plenty of shopping, museums, and restaurants. You can also catch the ferry to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.
Chatham, the National Seashore, Cape Cod League baseball, or Provincetown are just a drive away. Or simply meander along route 6A and find art galleries, antiques, restaurants, and lots of hidden gems.
You could spend your entire vacation without getting back in your car - or use this house as a great jumping off point for exploring the Cape!
