From the moment you arrive and gaze over the boats at their peaceful moorings on Arey’s Pond, you realize you are in for a most exceptional vacation experience. Bring your boat! You can tie it up at the private dock that comes with this property. Or rent a small cat boat next door at the Arey’s Pond Boat Yard. Then, at high tide, you’re in position to cruise the Namequoit River out to Pleasant Bay and the Atlantic beyond. Fresh water Pilgrim Pond is also nearby. 

Here, you’re close to everything Orleans is known for. Broad, sandy Nauset Beach, a 10-minute drive, is ready to show you why it’s one of the best beaches on the east coast.

Drive seven minutes to Hog Island Beer, a local brewery with plenty of charm. Or take your sweet tooth to the Hot Chocolate Sparrow, where they serve up desserts of every indulgence, and their own hand-dipped chocolates.

Restaurants such as The Barley Neck and Mahoney’s Atlantic Grill beckon, and each is only a six-minute drive from the house. The Academy Playhouse for live, summer stock theatre is four minutes up the road. Drive only six minutes to Nauset Farms Market in East Orleans Village and be delighted by their fresh deli sandwiches, fresh produce, superb, friendly butcher shop and freshly made, tempting desserts.

Back at the house, your outdoor summer living space could not be better.  There’s the big deck overlooking the pond and boats, of course. The gas grill and enclosed outdoor shower live here, as well as an outdoor dining table seating up to 14 for your waterfront dining pleasure. It’s a few steps to the heated pool next to the house. From there, you can see the pond and boats, as well as from the adjoining hot tub. When the sun goes down, often with a fiery, breathtaking glow over the pond, light up the fire pit and try to name the stars and constellations as they begin to appear overhead.

Inside the recently renovated house, your vacation experience continues with an abundance of charm and function. In the kitchen, dining, family room space, note the added sense of space and light thanks to the appealing A-frame, exposed beam, vaulted ceiling and skylight. There is also two desks where you can catch up on work if needed. 

The sparkling, fully equipped, chef’s eat-in kitchen has peninsula seating for four as well as a separate counter facing the pond with seating for up to five more. There’s a half bath off the kitchen. The adjoining family room has comfy lounge seating and a big TV, while the indoor dining area beyond seats up to 10. There’s more lounge seating in the handsome living room at the other end of the kitchen.

Sleeping accommodations for up to 12 include one bedroom with a king size bed and private full bath, another with a California king and bath en suite as well. One King bed is on the main level and the second is on the second floor. Additionally on the first floor you will find two bedrooms, each with a Queen bed. One the second floor you will find two additional bedrooms to go along with the King. One has two Queen beds and the other with two Twin beds.  A nice extra touch: a private balcony deck off the upper-level king master. 

The home’s lower level is finished with a family room/TV lounge and a recreation room with a ping pong table. There is a half bath here as well, making a total of four full and two half baths overall.

The home is cooled via split AC units (nine total), allowing for customized climate control throughout. There is cable/smart TV, a Sonos® Sound System and high-speed Wi-Fi. You’ll find all the amenities you would expect in a home of this quality, as well as some you don’t – such as the collector level wall art, a bocce court in the yard and a retro milkshake machine in the kitchen!
