Epicurean Journey to Cape Cod

You came to Cape Cod for fun, a four-seasons climate, plenty of beach time, and to sample the local food scene. There are a variety of establishments where you can tickle your taste buds with the best food in Cape Cod every meal of the day. From traditional American dishes to ethnic cuisines and dishes with a Cape Cod spin, you’ll find something to please your palate.

Day 1:

Breakfast: Ann & Fran’s Kitchen

Enjoy lighter fare like breakfast sandwiches, gluten-free fruit and grain bowls, and omelets. Fill up on French toast, pancakes, biscuit & gravy, and more. Create a complete meal with breakfast meats, a seasonal oatmeal bowl, or even a watermelon berry salad. Hours are 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday-Monday. Visit them at 471 Rt. 28 in West Yarmouth or call 508-775-7771.

Lunch: Skipper Chowder House

On Cape Cod, it’s called “chowdah,” and you can find some of the greatest at one of the best restaurants on Cape Cod. Try their Triple Crown Championship winning chowder, Cape Cod Clam Chowdah, or add a different taste to it with fried clams! Choose a traditional Caesar or house salad, or the summer citrus salad. Enjoy bites like fried calamari, steamers, or buffalo wings. There’s a variety of sandwiches, lobster rolls, pastas, or try the choices included in the raw bar. Hours are Monday-Friday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. at 152 South Shore Drive in South Yarmouth. Call 508-394-7406.

Dinner: Cuvee at Chatham Inn

Celebrate a special occasion with fine dining. The menu changes daily and reflects the freshest available ingredients. Enjoy dishes like caviar, oysters, wood fired prawn, New England lobster, or even a simple peanut butter and jelly! Treat yourself to a four-course meal, or seven-course tasting menu, as well as sommelier select wine pairings for each dish. Call 508-945-1468 for reservations at the restaurant located at 359 Main Street, Suite 2 in Chatham.

Day 2:

Breakfast: Red Cottage Restaurant

Enjoy breakfast favorites like buttermilk pancakes, French toast, waffles, and more. Try something different with a variety of crepes or Red Cottage Signature Dishes like corned beef hash & eggs or lobster Benedict. Choose a “Cape Cod Combination,” each named after a town! The “Yarmouth” features two buttermilk pancakes, eggs, breakfast meat, and a side, while the “Dennis” offers corned beef hash, buttermilk pancakes, eggs, and a side. Daily hours are 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 36 Old Bass River Road in South Dennis. Call 508-394-2923.

Lunch: Lobster Pot

Start the meal with tuna poke, lobster avocado cocktail, oysters or clams on the half shell, blackened shrimp, fried calamari, and more. Enjoy fish and seafood dishes like codfish Rockefeller, scallops, shrimp primavera, their famous BBQ pepper shrimp, or lobster ravioli Alfredo. Skip all that and head straight for the dish in the name of the restaurant: lobster. Choose from pan roasted, baked and stuffed, boiled, or out-of-the-shell offerings. Daily hours start at 11:30 a.m. at 321 Commercial Street in Provincetown. Call 508-487-0842.

Dinner: Gerardi’s Cafe

Choose from traditional Italian offerings like mozzarella bruschetta, meatball parmigiano, or a Cape Cod spin with potato encrusted crab cakes. Entrees include homemade lasagna or four-cheese ravioli, and a variety of pasta dishes. Reservations are suggested for dine-in meals. Call 508-394-3111. They are open Thursday-Tuesday starting at 4 p.m. at 902 Route 28 in South Yarmouth.

Day 3:

Breakfast: Keltic Kitchen

Enjoy American or Irish breakfast fare in West Yarmouth. Irish offerings include corned beef hash, the “Keltic Fry” – two eggs, two rashers, two sausages, black and white pudding, home fries or baked beans, a scone, and brown bread or toast, and more. Go for more traditional offerings like French toast, pancakes, bagels, English muffins, and many other selections.

Lunch: Simply Divine Pizza Co.

If you’re craving pizza, they have the answer to your hunger. You can create your own or choose from one of their specialty pizzas. They have choices like Margherita, meat lover, and “the special” – pepperoni, ham, maple fennel sausage, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and black olives. Add some seafood to the top of the pie with scallop & bacon or shrimp scampi. They have a variety of salads and starters to choose from, as well as sandwiches, pasta, calzones, wraps, and more.

Dinner: Brazilian Grill

Go to Brazil without leaving Cape Cod. Choose from a variety of meats, like baby top sirloin, beef short ribs, lean pork loin, leg of lamb, and many more. Add fixings from the salad bar or create a meal from the al la carte menu full of traditional Brazilian offerings. Reservations are recommended. You can make one online or call 508-771-0109.
