Warm and Welcoming Cape Cod, Massachusetts Vacation Rentals
You may find yourself humming the old Christmas song, “Baby, it’s cold outside” when you first arrive at your Christmas cottage, but the cold may disappear from your consciousness at first glance. Our properties exude a warmth and welcoming vibe, one that says, “Come inside, take off your coat, and feel comfortable,” and so you will!
Quiet and serene, upon your first steps inside, the heater will have done its job, emitting a quiet hum as the house seems to hold its breath, waiting for your first gasp of delight. Follow the path of wood floors into rooms filled with all the ways to feel comfortable, to have fun, and to relax, and immediately understand that this Christmas will be one you remember forever.
Merry and Bright
Most tours begin with the living room—it IS the room in which you will spend most of your time awake, after all—and ours are ready to be explored. Most times there will be a gas fireplace, prepared to add an extra spark of romance to your getaway while also offering a mantel from which you will definitely want to hang your stockings on Christmas Eve. Large televisions will be perfect for watching holiday movies, and as you sink into plush sofas and perhaps burrow under colorful throws, the movie on the screen will reflect the joy you feel in your heart, because, yes, it really is a wonderful life!
Windows that stretch from floor to ceiling will add an ethereal glow to the scene as the moon shines down on a snow-covered landscape, and more flakes may be lazily floating downwards, adding to the pile below. Somehow it will just feel more like Christmas in your beautiful escape, and isn’t that just what you needed?
Festive and Yummy
The kitchen and dining room of our spacious sanctuaries will also serve to further the Christmas feeling as you prepare a feast with high-quality appliances and then gather around large tables to dine with family and/or friends. Stone counters will entice you to try your grandma’s Christmas cookie recipe, rolling out the dough with gleeful abandon, and if some get devoured before being iced and placed on pretty trays, well, it’s just more proof that your favorite holiday traditions can be indulged in during your Cape Cod Christmas journey!
As laughter rings through the rafters, glasses clink and forks scrape the last morsels of food of what will probably be one of your greatest holiday meals from the plates, you can also have Christmas music streaming without glitches, thanks to high-speed internet!

Cheerful and Fun
There are so many festivals and events that will be taking place on Cape Cod, we can’t even begin to list them all, but there are a few that we will highlight here, starting with Gardens Aglow, held select days from Thanksgiving through the end of December. The Heritage Museum and Gardens, found at 67 Grove Street in Sandwich, lights up their gardens as they celebrate the holiday, adding a gentle brightness to the winter season.
The Osterville Annual Christmas Open House and Stroll add another layer of fun to the season, offering Christmas activities (and yes, we have heard that Santa will be there!), a golf cart parade, and the opportunity to stroll through a village decorated with tradition and joy in mind.
Chatham’s Christmas by the Sea Stroll Weekend (mid-December) offers the feeling that you are living out loud in an authentic snow globe and includes a tree-lighting ceremony, Christmas caroling, and the chance to buy some truly unique and wonderful gifts for everyone on your Christmas list! And if you’d like, you can always stay in Chatham! Pretty Picky team offers the best Chatham vacation rentals for you!
Last but definitely not least, the Polar Express Train Ride will bring the magic of the movie to life when you board the Cape Cod Central Railroad. It runs on weekends in late November through late December.
