Modern Pond Front Home in Orleans
Sleeps 8.
Rents Friday to Friday in the peak season
Linens Included, beds made
Perched overlooking pristine Baker’s Pond, you’ll find this newly renovated home with three floors of living and a private beach on the pond, which would be called a lake anywhere but Cape Cod. There is very little development here, so you’ll be among the few who have access to the fresh water haven.
You can fit a half dozen beach chairs on the beach and there's a swim platform that floats in the water and provides a destination for swimmers. You can launch the owner-provided kayaks and paddle board from the beach. There is a small sailboat as well. When you’re not swimming, paddle around the beautiful pond in the kayaks. If you’re not familiar with Bakers Pond, it straddles the border of Orleans & Brewster with excellent trail access to Nickerson State Park. There are only 14 homes that abut the pond so it’s quite tranquil and peaceful.
Up at the house, you’ll enjoy a newly renovated kitchen that is part of the grand main living area with soaring ceilings that is flooded with natural light. The dining room and living room complete the main living area. The deck is easily accessed from the living room and wraps around the house for ample lounging and dining space. You have great views of the water from the deck as well.
There is one bedroom on the main level with a queen bed plus a twin. A full bath is right next door. Upstairs, the primary bedroom boasts a king bed and modern private bath. Downstairs you’ll find an additional queen bed plus a twin. There is a full bath on the lower level as well. You have water views from all three levels. The house is equipped with an outdoor shower, high speed Wi-Fi and is cooled via quiet and efficient in-wall split units.
Though the house is quite private, it’s only a 5-minute drive to downtown Orleans for a myriad of shopping and dining options. Head to Skaket Beach on the bay (7-minute drive) or to Nauset on the Atlantic (12-minute drive) if you have a hankering for some salt in your water!
