If you like looking at the water, you’ll want to consider this pristine property on Hinckley's Pond in the picturesque Lakes Region of Harwich. If you think of a “pond” as a small, still, murky place for frogs and turtles, please note that Hinckley's Pond is a 176- acre natural kettle pond. Only on Cape Cod could this be called a “pond.” You’ll want to do more than just look at its calm, crystal clear water. Take a swim. Launch a kayak. You’re living on a beautiful Cape Cod lake, so make the most of it! Please note though, there is not a sandy beach along the waters edge. You will want to wear water shoes as the rocks can be a little slippery when wet.
You have water views from the enclosed sunroom as well as from a very private deck. You’ll find the large picnic table and grill on the deck as well as an umbrella shaded dining table, where you’ll no doubt want to serve most of your meals. The enclosed outdoor shower can be accessed by way of the walkout lower level. Most the back yard is also fenced in for kids and the pup.
The property is right in the middle of the Cape, which means you don’t have to go far for anything and everything the Cape has to offer. It’s only a few miles drive to the charming shops and tempting restaurants of Harwich Port Center. Or the antiques and timeless sea captains’ homes along route 6-A in Brewster. Enjoy sandy beaches on both the Sound and Bay sides of the Cape. If you are bikers, you’ll love having the famous Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path a very short ride from this house.
On the main floor of the house, you’ll discover a bright, cheery, fully equipped kitchen, including an island with high boy seating for three. There’s a wet bar adjacent to the kitchen as well. The kitchen is quite social and opens to the dining room and living room beyond, with comfy lounge seating and a big smart TV. The vaulted ceiling here creates a sense of inviting space and light, including the beautiful, open, second floor balcony, overlooking the living room below. There is also an office with a TV and Queen sleeper couch, a great place to sneak away if you must do a little work on vacation.
In the unfinished lower level is a large screen smart TV, couches, ping pong table, foosball/pool/soccer game table for the kids and a workout area.
This home has three bedrooms and two and a half baths. The king master bedroom is on the main level and has a private, full bath ensuite. The other two bedrooms are on the second level, each with a queen size bed plus a twin. All the bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and sunroom have views of the lake.
The house is centrally air conditioned, has cable/smart TV and high-speed Wi-Fi. Other fun amenities are 2 kayaks and a badminton set.
